Carol Jean HoneywellCarol Jean (Skidmore) Honeywell passed away at her home in Wheaton, Illinois, in the presence of her loving family, on March 21, 2025. She was 87.Carol was born on July 29, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, to R. Wayne Skidmore and Maxine (Davis) Skidmore. Her father was an early employee of Hi-Bred Corn Company, founded by future U.S. Vice President Henry A. Wallace, and eventually rose to become president and CEO of the company, which became Pioneer Hi-Bred. She attended Byron Rice Elementary and Franklin Middle School and was graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1955. After graduation, she attended the University of Iowa, where she met her future husband, Larry Gene Honeywell. They lived at Fort Knox in Kentucky while Larry served in the United States Army before moving to Brooklyn and Rochester, New York; and Edison and Metuchen, New Jersey, before settling in Wheaton.
