It is with great sadness that we announce that Stephen William Brodt, at age 76, a resident of Sugar Grove passed away on February 16th, 2025. He was born November 1st, 1948 in Allentown, PA to Robert and Helen Brodt.
Steve spent most of his childhood living on the south side of Chicago. After graduating high school, he was drafted to join the Vietnam War but was amusingly rejected due to his flat feet. This turn of events led him to enroll at Southern Illinois University (SIU), where he earned a bachelor's degree in Finance.
Following college, Steve married and raised a family while he worked for a landscaping company in the Chicago suburbs. In 1976, he founded his own landscaping company," Western Dupage Landscaping," which has thrived for 49 years and continues to flourish. Steve's career had many milestones, by 2004 WDL was the 54th largest green company in the United States with nearly 200 employees.
