Sullivan Stewart

On February 25, 2025, Sullivan Stewart, affectionately known as "Sully", peacefully passed away in his home, at the age of 83. He was born on September 19, 1941 in Laws Hill, Mississippi to the late Vallen and Louise Stewart Sr. He was a fierce advocate for education and understood the power of knowledge. Sullivan believed in the institution of marriage, and was a father to a daughter, a son and two grandchildren.
As a veteran of the US Army, he represented the commitment of a soldier to uphold the motto, "This We'll Defend." He dedicated 40 years of service to Caterpillar Inc., helping customers build a better, more sustainable world as a mechanic for earth moving equipment. At an early age Sullivan accepted Christ on "the moaning bench", but did not begin serving the kingdom until his late 50's. He chose Progressive Baptist Church to actively be in that service.
