Lois Moede Israel, (June 13, 1932-August 21, 2024) was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. After 92 years on earth, she is now spending eternity with her Lord. Born in Milwaukee, WI to Walter and Agnes Moede, she attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL. After teaching 1st and 2nd grades at her home church school in Milwaukee, she married Don Israel, a fellow teacher whom she met in college. Together Lois and Don raised four daughters, Doris, Phyllis, Kathy, and Paula, while living in Missouri, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and then back to Illinois, where they resided in the same house for 58 years. Lois’s greatest joys were her family, which also included grandchildren Matthew, Julia, Katie, and Jesse, and great-grandchildren Victor, Conrado, and Aria, and serving in her church with her true gift of hospitality.
