Diana Kalny, of Darien, passed peacefully at home on August 24, at the age of 93, with her children and brother by her side. Elmer, the love of her life, and Diana, were married at St. John of God Catholic Church, Chicago, on September 30, 1950. Diana is survived by her sister Clara and brother Joseph, children Karen (Larry) Lambert, and Kenneth (Diane), five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Diana is preceded in death by Elmer, parents Joseph and Veronica Sulek, and sister Constance. Diana grew up in Chicago and is a 1947 graduate of Lindbloom High School. Diana and Elmer moved to Marion Hills (pre-Darien), and became involved in community activities. As a Girl Scout leader, she took two different troops to Colorado Springs. The annual vacations took the family from San Diego to Quebec. She was a bookkeeper for both school District 61 and Darien Park District. Her artistic talents were focused on ceramics.
