Donald R. McFee, a distinguished mechanical engineer, veteran, and dedicated community servant, passed away April 19, 2024 at the age of 94 at Edward Hospital, Naperville, IL. Born July 4, 1929 in Union County Indiana, to Stanley and Frances McFee. Don was raised on a family farm, a foundation that nurtured his strong work ethic and resilience. These values helped his family endure the Great Depression and instilled in Don a lifelong commitment to diligence and strategic planning.A proud alumnus of Purdue University, Don graduated in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He served for three years in the 2nd Air Force, stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base as part of the Strategic Air Command, where he developed his foundational interest in safety engineering.
