Dorothy Louise Burgess, mother to Scott and Eric Burgess, died on January 21, 2024, after a multi-year struggle with the complications of aphasia. Dorothy loved many things, including travel, gardening, playing music at church, and loading many tins with sweet pecans every Christmas, which she shared generously with anyone who came for a visit.Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on October 11, 1942, Dorothy was the daughter of a minister and his wife. She attended the University of Wisconsin Madison, became a psychiatric nurse, and eventually made her home in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where she raised her sons and lovingly served her patients at (Marianjoy, Central Dupage Hospital, and in private practice.)Dorothy accomplished many things, but the care she showed for someone in need could easily be underestimated by her petite frame and light touch on the planet. Sometimes, that care showed by getting on the floor to play with little kids, taking people into her home to give them access to need
